Sedation Dentistry

Who is a candidate for Sedation Dentistry?

  People who have:

  • High Fear
  • Traumatic dental experiences
  • Difficulty getting numb
  • A bad gag reflex
  • Very sensitive teeth
  • Complex dental problems
  • Limited time to complete dental care

  People who:

  • Hate needles and shots
  • Hate the noises, smells and taste associated with dental care
  • Are afraid or embarrassed about their teeth

Following consultation, the appropriate level of sedation will be selected for you. Dr Boltz will either give you a prescription for a small pill to take an hour prior to your dental appointment, or you may be given oral medications in our office an hour before your scheduled time of treatment. Your companion (designated driver) will accompany you to the office. By the time your treatment is to start, you will be very drowsy.

You will be escorted into the comfortable room, covered with a warm blanket and placed on monitors to watch your vital signs. Dark glasses and headphones to listen to the your favorite radio station, CD or cassette will be available. After you are comfortable, Dr. Boltz and the experienced clinical team at Dental Care Today PC will take care of your dental needs.

When your treatment is completed, your companion will return you home to finish your comfortable, relaxing day. You will most likely sleep most of the rest of your day and will remember little or nothing about the whole experience.
